If you look at the TPIS intakes... they arent clean at all and leave alot to be desired.

I hate to say this, but I can now say with absolute certainty that this will not work. Hopefully your LS6 intake has not been hacked too bad that TPIS cannot fix it. The piece that TPIS uses necks down at the end, as there is not enough height under the front runner to allow a true 90mm inlet. You may get yours to fit, and you may be able to successfully affix it, but without the proper step down you are going to have a huge lip that will severely block airflow.

You can't. The "lip" is the bottom of the frontmost runner. Shaving it would mean cutting a big hole in it.

yes i realized that the tpi one necks down as it gets to the intake. once i find a suitable pipe all i would have to do is oval it a bit to compenstate. unfortunetly i have put this on hold for right now as im in the process of rebuilding a trans core i picked up(also still searching for a pipe/tube for the intake) to get my car back on the road. once its done ill be back to the intake so stay tuned!

I think he will pull it off. However, Molecules of two different plastics will not properly bond. You have to use the same type of plastic. As for the turnup, just fishmouth the bottom of the inlet, heat it up just enough to get a smooth bend and trim the bottom of the plenum to compensate. Good luck. I would love to see this work. I have seen similar things work with an ls6 intake that were done in the garage, just not quite 90mm.

Interesting read. I would like to know how the home brew version worked out too.

I'm happy with the $350 LPE/TPiS 90mm snout on my LS6 intake.
