So, you'd essentially have header collector mufflers, right? If it's straight through bullets you're talking about, why NOT do it? Anyone with exhaust knowledge know why he should not do this?
Without the crossover like they said, you'd have "collector muffler" sytle bullets, then boom tubes. Or maybe headers, then bullets, then crossover, then boom tubes. That'd be cool

I made a couple calls back east to a guy that does a "little" work on those cars that make alot of left hand turns. He said he is going to try and get me what I am looking for.
He said the only trouble with getting the used stuff is that its pretty beat up after a run, but the new stuff from Dr. Gas is spendy as hell. So I opted to go with the cheaper dollar figure and not worry about looks.
We will see what happens.
I will run the bullets right off the headers then to the crossover then to the boom tube.

I've been looking at doing this for a while. I actually plan on running some spintech mufflers off of the headers into an x pipe and running single boom tubes out of each side. I've got the aero package on my Z so I actually plan on cutting into the gfx for a little more clearance. My old roomate was running an x pipe with dumps before the axles. It definitley wasn't quiet but it was deep and had no rasp. Where as I have hooker lt's, an offroad y into a loudmouth, with a bullet instead of rhe resonator. My exhaust puts his to shame loud wise. I'm hoping by going to this new setup it actaully quiets the car down a little and gives it more of a deep throaty rumble with little to no rasp. The only thing I really worried about is the heat issue but I'll deal with that hurdle when I get to it.

you guys need to talk to Turninlt4 on here, hes got a 97 ss with the boom tube setup, used to have spintechs on there, but they hung to low, but he does have the exit on both sides, its ungodly loud, ****** awesome really, only drawback is smelling like exhaust all the time, id do it, but he got to it 1st....

Just to respond to your earlier post on page 2 i think. The boom tubes actually scavenge. They have a crossover hole abotu every 3 or 4 inches in teh dividers within' the boom tubes. They really help with torque. I picked up 12 ftlbs just going from open X to boom tubes. I also lost no HP

I did a 3" x-pipe with fake pup cats and 3" bullets out the sides. Clearance sucks, sound is a little loud. Not too bad cruising on the freeway. Cool factor is two thumbs up. Heat is not issue. I wrapped the fuel and brake lines with heat shield tape. I have pics and a burnout clip if you want email me jmh75@earthlink.net

What if some one designed some custom ground effects that hung lower that would have room for the tips with out having to flatten the pipe out too much. It would also make the car look lower for those of us with low hangin headers that cant go any lower.
