TPIS 90mm LS6 Intake Pics
Here's some closeup shots of the TPIS modified LS6 intake. I sent mine off to them and they cut the snout off and glued on a 90mm inlet. After looking at the finished product, I'm confident that anyone with the right glue and access to the right parts can do this themselves if they are careful and have the nerve. I know of a few guys on here that are doing it now or getting ready to do this themselves. These pics should clear up a few questions you had. One thing I like, is that the throttle body will have more of an upward angle which should help with the tubing to the maf. One thing I'm pissed about is the throttle cable bracket hold down holes aren't there. I will have to drill and use some bolts and nuts. Not a big deal, but wasn't expecting that.

Def not what i was hoping for either and doesnt look like the pics that are in the org thread couldnt see the glue on the first one but hey if it seals its all good nothing a little time and sand paper will fix......im just wondering how in the world i bought a brand new LS2 intake off someone for 100 buck and that what it looks like they did is used a Ls2 SNout and the other one looks like a three bolt to me did you ask for the 4 bolt?

I think we figured from another thread it's a few hundred dollars cheaper than a Fast. Either way, I would have to buy a 90mm TB. But yeah, the quality is a little disappointing for $350+. I wasn't expecting the metal brackets and screws and wasn't expecting the drips of glue. I ordered the 4 bolt round option. I heard the 3 bolt oval option was either being phased out or not offered anymore. There are plenty of TB choices with the 4 bolt round option, so it's not a problem.

The 3-bolt pictures was of my 90mm oval snout intake.. which was their own design that they no longer offer anymore which is was weird to me because it made 2 hp & 3ft lbs over 90mm round set-up..

Yeh I don't know but mine has a real clean epoxy job compared to HavATampa's they could have atleast wiped that one epoxy drip mark off before it dried..
It still looks fine to me though...
They don't drill the holes for throttle cable bracket because of the difference's between the years..

Gotcha, thanks! I see in the other thread of the pics that you posted that you had to drill yours too. Not a big deal.

I have a friend that can machine and plastic weld those together. FAST wouldn't give me info on the type of plastic. I need that to figure out what type of plastic rod to use on them. Or.. if someone has a busted up intake we could do some weld tests with. Are they just using the LS-2 snout for the 90mm opening? Or does another model or possibly truck have that 90mm on it? Jantzer could probably make that 90mm piece in aluminum where it could be bolted on with an o-ring groove.

We could machine and weld them on. Only problem is needing the pieces. If Jantzer could make a jig to attach and cut the LS-6 and a bolt on 90mm adapter that has an o-ring groove anyone could do it on-car. It would take a little research using LS-1 intakes where everyone is selling them for dirt on E-Bay to get it figured out but really could be done.

not what i was expecting
as for cost comparison (cost new from TSP):
92mm FAST Intake Manifold with PTM 92mm Throttle Body = $1100
subtract $300-350 for the ls6 intake
subtract $50-100 for the stock throttle body (depending on if its ported)
total for a FAST setup is $650-750 out of pocket
cost for TPIS modified manifold is $350
plus the cost of the 90mm TB $350-400
minus the $50-100 for the stock TB
total for the modified setup is $600-700 out of pocket.
i'll chose the FAST...especially since it has the option to port

Engine mods are 30 lb SVO's, Tea 5.3's Stage 1.5, Comp Cam .589/.597 230/236, HS Rockers, SW Headers, TD's w/H, !Air, !EGR, ASP Pulley, HP Tuners. I'm adding a UMI 90mm TB, 85mm MAF and a Fast Toys lid. I don't personally know anyone that has this, but know a few guys here have posted that they have one. I like the idea of streetabilty and I like the rpm range of the LS6 and I like the durabilty of it too. I don't have to worry about the MAP sensor leaking or falling off like the FAST. I don't want to or need to rev to 7000 rpm for power. I want to keep the velocity high and the power band reasonable. Not sure about the power gains. All I have to go by is TPIS advertisements and you know how that can be manipulated.
