Long tubes all the way. shorties are a waste of time and you will not be happy with the power gains. Shorties are only good for the driver who is trying to pass emissions

total waste of time unless trying to pass emissions, longtubes or manifolds in my opinion.

a better arguement might be mids vs LTs. in which case, you will retain more bottom end power with mids but you will gain more power overall with LTs.

I agree with everyone Long tubes are the best for power and money spent, however, I will give you a little input on the shorties on my car. I have JBA shorties (ceramic coated) going into a stock y-pipe with stock cats and then into a hooker cat back exhaust. After installing the shorties I felt no increase in power by my seat of the pants. I did notice that my underhood temperatures dropped with the ceramic coating and the tone of my exhaust changed a little. These were fairly easy to install but then again long tubes may be easy to install as well. They seem to help overall in my combo, as I run 111+ mph in the quarter, but I would bet with long tubes I would run better. Also, little to no tuning necessary for shorties since they are pretty much stock flowing.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...headers-y.html

he is a sponsor on here and sells stainless headers and y for 650 with free shipping. good gains, good fitment, and stainless! mids might have small gains but again probably arent worth the money or trouble....what year is your car? if its 00-02 you have the good manifolds so id say longtubes or bust...if its 98-99 mids might show some gains to make it worth it.

just go with lt, or keep the stock manifolds. its pretty much been proven to that. mids and st are waste of time, unless you need them for some swap into older car and want a tubular look.
such as truck shorties work well in 3rd gen swaps
