Pacesetter headers better than SLP headers
I just ordered heads and cam for my 2000 SS A4 and right now I have SLP longtubes. I am thinking about changing to Pacesetter longtubes when I install the heads & cam. Just wanted to get some opinions on the two. Thanks

i'd keep them if you already have them, there fine unless you plan on lowering your car. i doubt you'll gain any signifigant hp from switching to the pacesetters from the the slp's.

Re: Pacesetter headers better than SLP headers
i have the slps and a friend of mine....with the same mods...gained 10 rwhp with the changeover. slp's are a bottleneck for sure. not that they are awful headers, but there are better ones out there for a lot less cash!

Re: Pacesetter headers better than SLP headers
I think both sides are right . . . the SLP headers are Stainless Steel, but have lower power output and hang low. The question is, do you want to spend $725 on some QTP's (also stainless) to gain 5 to 10 hp? I think the tie breaker would be if you need the added ground clearance. You could also pass off the SLP's on some sucker and get some of your money back.

Re: Pacesetter headers better than SLP headers
Damn man..did you forget to bolt the headers to engine or something! I'm lowered with SLP lt's and don't have a single scatch on them. I've only rubbed maybe twice and that was on the Y-pipe. I say stick with the SLP's the gain wouldn't be worth the extra cash if any. Pacesetters may be cheaper but have fun when it comes to the "great" "fit" and "finish". My SLP's fit and finish was excellant to say the least. There are alot of cheaper LT's out now.. but I have read and heard of people complaning about them not fitting correctly or lining up with the y-pipe. I'm very satisfied with my SLP's. I would say stick with them. If anything check out QTP lt's. Just my 02.
