ls2 heads on an ls1

hey sorry if this has been asked before but i searched and i couldnt find exactly what i was looking for. How well do LS2 heads perform on an ls1? i have the opportunity to buy ls2 heads that are ported/polished for a good price with low miles with good flow numbers, are they worth geting? or should i go with ls6 heads? thnks guys

they are the sam head as the ls6 heads they just didn't use sodium filled valves.

i would say 30-40 hp you would see 15-20 from stock 243. hard to say exactly.

i read that 15-20 figure from the 243s somewhere, and im sure the cam will only help the effectiveness of the heads

in reality its just a up in compression, most shops say they see an average of between 15-25 hp gained but like said above a cam well help those numbers even more but sometimes for the money there a good deal

edit: i see you both are in this thread... i would be pretty suprised if you got 40 to the wheels from those heads..

Yea I said 30-40 because I think 40 is on the high side but 30+ from ported 243 is realistic. If he does his cam,ported 243 amd an ls6 intake/tb he will gain I think at least 80hp.
