I HAVE SOCK HEADS ON MYLS1, AND IS IS WORTH IT? CALLED THE MACHINE SHOP THEY SAID THEY WILL P&P MY HEADS PUT 2.02 INTAKE AND 1.6 EXHAUST IN OTHER WORDS BIGGER STAINLESS STEEL VALVES DO A 3 ANGLE VALVES JOB AND RESURFACES THE HEADS FOR $645.00 PLUS TAXES. SO IS IT WORTH IT? AND WHAT KIND OF HEADS DO I HAVE ANYWAY?

What year is your car, first of all? We now nothing about it based on that. And I would say no no matter your answer. The heads are just fine, and IF you plan on upgrading them you're going to want to plans out your purchase with a new cam and IM to get anything out of all the work.

I say no, unless you calculate the upgrade into a greater scheme.

I would spend a little more and get some good LS6 or 5.3 CNC heads or lower end new castings if it were me. Unless you can afford AFR's or something.

Exactly, it would be better to buy an entirely new (different) core and build it up with the advice of someone who does it for a living, or you could just rob the specs from someone with the same mods as you. But upgrade for sure.

to my understanding a 3 angle valve job is just a standard valve job on a set of heads the 5 angle is the performance valve job just wanted to throw that out there but 640 sounds like an average price for that from what Ive read

forgot to say if you have standard LS1 heads there 241's with a P+P they flow good they can support a 500+hp engine if they do a good job but the cnc ported ls6 243's are still supposed to be better
