im assuming I will need to do something special for the intake install since I don’t want that black tube coming out of it I heard it makes you lose power.. not cool lol..

I don’t have lots of money but I have been saving all winter and want to do things right.. if you think I should be getting something else or think you or someone else could give me better prices, let me know.. I have not contacted anyone yet this is just me searching the net.. I am buying a lot of things so I do expect some sort of help on the prices if I buy everything from one place… i know theres alot of this stuff that should be in different places and not in this section, but im mostly conserned about bolt ons and will i need any accesories or anythihng special.. i would like to have everything in front of me before i get hem installed.. thanks guys for any help/advice you give..

You should do a cam before the fast 90/90 and I wouldnt waste 150 on wires when you can get msd's and ngk plugs for under 70 shipped from a sponsor

 

wont be putting cam yet because i dont know how it works in ottawa the emissions stuff is strict.. unless someone knows what willl pass.. thx tho

 

don't recall the price, but Strano Parts has the brembo/hawk setup as a package deal. as well as other rotor options.

$150 for wires!!!!!!

i paid $45 for my taylor spiro pros...and they are more than sufficient. coil per cylinder means short wires...no need for stupid expensive wires.


and if you're planning a procharger....why put the money into the rear end? save up for a 12bolt. you'll need it sooner or later if you drive the car any.


and i was under the impression that the FAST is not ideal for boosted engines due to issues with leaking.

 

I may be wrong; but I see a lot of people sticking with a 1 piece intake, such as the LS6, when going forced induction. That would save off some cash. You could use that cash towards a custom blower cam that would pass emissions. A great tuner is going to be key.

 

Ditto on sticking with the stock intake and not pouring money into the stock rear. The stock intake will work well when going FI until you're ready to go ALL OUT, till then I'd save the cash towards the supercharger kit itself. As for the rear, the stocker is a ticking time bomb and you'll definitely need a stronger rear (12 bolt/9"/S60) of your choice when going FI.

Plan ahead and it'll do wonders for you...
Other than that, great choices!

 

Is there something wrong with your stock plug wires? No real gains to be had, unless you just want to do it.

Also, the FAST 92mm intakes come with stainless hardware already.

 

tsp headers and y would be around $500 and im 99% sure they are 1 7/8" stainless steel. use the money you save for a dyno tune and something else.

yeah the FI is last on mylist , rear end will be done first for sure, can i get one off of some other type of car? or i can onlyget it by aftermarket? and as for the 1 7/8 would they work fine without FI until i get it procharged? (about a year).. as for the break setup(thanks) i looked at strano, much better price..
as far as the FAST intake, i have seen it on FI with guys runing 10psi, and they say it works fine... im not going to be doing over 7psi.. from what i hear the FAST is the best intake, except for the price.. thanks again guys!!

 

^ 1 7/8 will have gains over 3/4 on a stock motor, dyno proven. i think it was like 5-8 across the upper half rpms. and since you plan on a supercharger id definitely go 7/8

i just had a look at rear end.. do i actually have to by the hole rear or just differential or is it the same thing.. i found prices around 2500 to 3000 thats alot of money... hopefully im looking at the wrong stuf..

tsp 1 7/8 headers are not ss they are coated but best bang forr 1 7/8 headers they are the only ones that sell that size that cheap

 

I'd save money and not buy the rotors, unless you are crazy about the look of drilled/slotted.

about the rotors, at high speeds i feel a little vibration when i brake , the rotors and pads on now are stock,about 5000 milles on them..

the only set on tsp headers i found they ssay no AIR or EGR provisions, i need that stuff for emissions ..

and as for chaging the intake on a 98 getting either a ls6 or fast., do i need to do any special work to get rid of the black hose coming out of the stock? or just disconnect and ignore?
