if you have the coin...the FAST might not be a bad upgrade. but stock cubes and stock cam might not show the gains that are proven with cam only and h/c engines.
there are only a few dyno tests to show real world gains by swapping on a stock cam engine.

i think someone did it on a vette and gained 20hp...but i'm not sure that was same day/same dyno.

for an educated guess, i would say on a bolt on, stock cammed car...you'd see 7-10rwhp with an LS6, and probably only about 5-7hp more with the FAST over the LS6.

my ported FAST on a cam only engine really didn't start to shine untill >5500rpm. and my cam peaks at 6300.
while i DID pick up power across the entire rpm band (both hp and torque) it was small, 5-10hp or torque. but in the peak rpm i gained almost 20hp.

i'm guessing this shows the rpm range of the LS6, but since you're stock cam you're not really reving much past 6100 or 6200rpm.
Thanks Man that is good info. I agree, I think for the most part it seems like a LS6 intake does a pretty good job.

teke184- thanks for the informative response. just to get off topic here for one minute. You mentioned porting the stock TB. How much exactly? Enough to be of the same diameter as the LS6 intake opening?

I had a buddy of mine that had a 2000 Z28 A4 that had full bolt ons and the Fast 92/92 set up...picked up almost 50 rwhp just with the fast set up and a retune. Whats weird is he only beat me by like a car, car and a half and I had full bolts ons(minus UDP) and LS6 intake and P&P TB. He was mad...lol

porting the stocke TB removes some small restrictions ahead of the blade, and smooths out flow into the throttle body.

the actual size of the opening is not changed.

besides, the ls6 intake IS the same size as the stock tb

Well the OP also wants to know from everyone that gained power to post
your E.T.'s. So all of you that gained 20 hp how much did you lower your ET's?
I NEVER see anyone say that.

i never went to the track before the fast 90 ,so i cant give a comparison for you.but with power in sig the best i could do was a 12.1 at 118 on regular bf goodrich street tires.

What about a ported ls6 intake vs the FAST? I bet there isnt a 30rwhp difference there. Maybe 10-15rwhp?

Yeah it would be nice to see back to back track numbers, but with a 20hp gain that should be around .2 and 2 mph right?...depending...

Yeah, thats what i'm thinking too. 20 whp should be good for 2 tenths.
But its funny that all these guys that say they gained 20 hp never said what they gained at the track...i could care less about mph either. I think the reason that most dont lower their ET's is there isn't a significant gain in the torque which you need to lower your ET's. To me the cost of the FAST plus the TB and maybe porting isn't worth an average gain of 12 whp or a peak of 18-20 hp. The little gains it shows is way too high in the rpm band.

i gained 5-10ftlbs of torque from 3000rpm and up.

and 12 peak, and that peak was 500rpm lower.

combine that with the 18rwhp and i'd say it was well worth the money...and i ported it at home in a few hours.

and considering my cam peaks at only 6300rpm....and i still gained that much peak...is proof to me that the FAST is not just for extreme high rpm setups.

as for track times...

the closest track is over 3hrs drive.
i've had my car for just shy of 6yrs....never been to a track...and only done a handfull of street races. sometimes just fun driving is all the enjoyment we get.

i could care less about being a track monkey

Thats what I figured, For a 1000 dollars I can put money else were like saving for forged internals. When I could just run nitrous to make up and add more then the intake differance.
