would not having catz make a difference?
I intalled the headers and removed the cats on my truck.. big difference in sound..
Now it sounds more aggresive.. so no cats = louder

Re: How to make my car louder/meaner sounding?? help.... True duals with turndowns. I had mine made at a small muffler shop and they did a great job. Sounded better than anything i'd ever heard. Only cost me like $100 + the mufflers.

i already have no catz so that is good 
Any Borla, SLP Loudmouth, or Cutout is gonna be loud as all he!! without cats. Only problem with any of those set-ups is that they all sound like $hit without the cats IMO(way too raspy and unrefined). Not a good sound at all on the LS1... 
If you want to keep your car loud all the time but actually sound good without the cats, get a TRUE DUAL set-up with some Dynomax Bullets, Sweet Thunder Chambered mufflers, or FloPro Twisters...

Re: How to make my car louder/meaner sounding?? help.... I think muscle cars sound better the louder they are: rasp=mean! My girlfriend gets more excited than I do when the Borla backfires(louder than a shotgun) 
also can't get enough of people about a block away turning around when I just start the car!
I can still hear her talking on the highway though, at least until I get the headers/ORY and run the Borla wide open.

I think the GMMG or duals sound the best.Between the two I prefer duals.
If you don't want tips in the back get duals that dump before the axle. It's cheap and it works. I would do that but I have a T/A and it would look bad.
