Default solid or polyurethane motor mounts

I need some of your opinions. Im planning on changing my motor mounts on my Z. What are the pros and cons of a solid compared to a urethane? My car is 400hp @ the wheels with a pretty big lift cam.

Here are a couple of threads on the solid mounts. The first one is my experience with them, with a mildy modded LS1. The 2nd is from a guy with a big cam.

seems like we jump all over these solid mount debate threads lol. I will always defend them, now that I have some. There are a lot of myths going around about solids. Its time that they get cleared up.

I have solid in my car and i love them. I figured my car would rattle like crazy, but it doesnt. But like everyone says, either way is better than stock.

Did your current car have solids motor mounts beforehand, or are you just assuming that the vibrations would be unbearable?

Solid... They are NOT unbearable... the ones who say they are more than likely haven't had them...

And if they have had solid mounts and they call it unbearable they're a *****. Plain and simple.

Solid motor mounts makes it a complete pain in the *** to remove the transmission if that need ever arrives. I know first hand.

This guy is telling the 100% truth yet again. If you plan on doing any tranny mods, you might want to do them first. I made the mistake of putting in the mounts BEFORE my TC. I regret that now.

i got poly mounts here. if you sat in my car, you would think i have stock rubber mounts. no extra vibration with polys

Go with poly unless its an all out track car.

I have polys in mine, you get 95% of the stiffness of solids without the harsh vibrations. There really are no downsides to poly mounts, solids are overkill for a 400WHP street driven vehicle.

Thanks for the info. I almost went with the solids but am now gonna go with the polys.

My polys are doing very well and are waayyyyyyy better than stock!! No vibration and holding fine with N2O..
