Default Minimum idle w/ ASP crank pulley?

I've searched, but I can't seem to find the thread. I seem to recall someone saying that one shouldn't drop the idle below a certain RPM if they have the ASP crank pulley. Something about it affecting charging.

If this is accurate, what's the RPM one shouldn't go below?

Mine idles at 800rpm, but that's more for the cam than the pulley.

I used to notice some brief power steering weakness during parking lot manuevers (when letting off the throttle suddenly causes the idle speed to drop too low.) After raising the idle to 650 (from 550) this slight problem was eliminated.

25% Crank.....................800 RPM
25% Crank & 15% Alt.......950 RPM

You can find it on their site actually @ http://www.autospecialties.com/frame.htm

If you have an M6 (which idles at 800) there is NO reason to raise the idle speed due for an underdrive pulley. If you have an a4 (550 RPM on most years I believe) then you might see some benefits from raising it. 800 is more than plenty for keeping the power steering pump and alternator happy.

I should raise my idle. It was fine after the pulley, but became bad after the converter.
My car idles at 500rpm, I get the stiff power steering thing all the time, and stalls too easily when backing up.
I think 650rpm would do the trick, but I ain't about to pay for a basic tune just raise my idle.

Drilling the airhole in your throttle body blade ONE size bigger than stock might help to alleviate the stalling problem a bit.

and one size means 1/32 of an inch at a time....dont go buy some set that does it in1/16ths....or worse...1/8ths

too much and you gotta get a new throttle-body butterfly
