It's a very simple install.
I cut a slit in the grommet under where a rear seat passenger's feet should be, ran the wiring though it, then tucked under the passenger side of the console and then spliced into cigarette lighter + and - for power.

One 13mm headed bolt holds in the rear seat cushion (located at front center), and it's much easier to pop it out of the way so you can reach under the carpet when pulling wiring up through the grommet.

Sorry, no part numbers to share since I used a cheapo Summit version.

I have the QTEC30CP with the turndown(part# 11338) I've had it for a couple of year with no problems.

It served me well. I can't complain. As you can see in the pic, I used the "clamp on style" pipe for ease of install and removal. I also made the little turndown for it as well, using the stock cutout block-off plate and some 3" pipe. I removed it and sold it after my car not gaining anything at the track other than noise. Most people claim big gains from one, but that definitely was not the case with my car. My car is deadly consistent at the track and runs just as well with through the dual/dual catback, as it did with the cutout opened up, so I decided to get rid of it.

It was definitely fun playing around with it on the street though...

do you have to do anything special for the wiring outside of the car? insulation, ect?

Not needed. I did clamp them close to the floorboard though, which all but eliminated the chance of them ever hanging down.

Same here, I just ran the wires through the gromet in the floor making sure they were as close to the floor as possible. Then I just mounted the switch from QTP (with a little modification) in the ashtray. Really simple install. I pulled the power from the cig lighter, so I wouldn't have to run a separate power wire.
