Default LoudMouth II vs Magnaflow

Hey guys,

Right now I have a LoudMouth II on my 99 Z28. It has hooker LTs without cats and is currently way too loud for my tastes. The car has no other major mods.

If I throw on a Magnaflow cat-back instead, how much quieter do you think it'll be? Is it going to still be very loud due to having no cats and LTs?

Also, how much do you think I can get for a used (1 summer) LoudMouth II?

Thanks in advance

The Magnaflow is going to be considerably quieter... I'm looking at changing exhausts from a LM2 as well.. with heads/cam it's ridiculous.

^there's some clips of different setups.

Thanks!

Anyone else have an opinion? Is it worth it to switch?

I'm not impressed with mine currently. Makes good power, but quality isn't the best and fitment isn't either. I suggest GMMG or Corsa.

magnaflow and quality do not go together.

Maybe do what others are doing and what I think Im going to do with my LM1....just put a new bullet on like the borla xr1 or magnaflow in place of the lm2's bullet. That will quiet it down alot. Plus I have now heard an xr1 on a lm1 full exhaust system and it sounds pretty good. Good luck.

Do you guys think putting in a magnaflow bullet would quiet the car down significantly from the LM2?

A magnaflow will be considerably quiter than a LM2....I have a magna with longtubes/ORY and its not loud at all...sounds just right.

I would say that it will not be as raspy and high pitched than anything. It might be slightly quietier. I know alot of people walk this line and love the end results.

I would switch it to the PowerFlo conversion kit or Magnaflow with a cutout

+1 on the powerflo conversion kit. I can't believe you were the first to suggest this. It actually makes the most sense to do and cost should be about the same for a magnaflow. The powerflo kit gets rid of all the interior resonance, and retains the WOT rumble.

My friend has LT's ORY and a Loudmouth I. I got LT's ORY and magnaflow. My car is a shitload quieter, and I like my tone a lot more. I have a different merge (flowmaster) so that might play a role as well though. I would at the very least suggest you get a muffler on your loudmouth.
