Throttle cable to short? (Pic).
Throttle cable to short? (Pic). We have recently installed an 02' long block in a 99 T/A. Well the 02' has an Ls6 intake and when we went to hook up the throttle cable it came up sort... With the bracket on the correct way the throttle body stayed open 1/2 way.... Turned the bracket around for a quick fix. Put I would really like to know what I can do to fix this problem and install everything correct. This will atleast solve one of my problems....

Not sure if this will help but there should be an adjustment in the cable, about midway between the firewall and the tb. Look for a black rectangular thing. You pull a clip out, slide it back and forth to adjust, then reinstall the clip.
The cams are differently shaped, but the total draw length
from closed to full open is the same.
It may be that the cable is from a non-TCS car or something.
There are two different cables. The non-TCS comes right from
the firewall but the TCS comes from the "throttle relaxer" pulley
cluster with a firewall-to-cluster run and a cruise-to-cluster
run.
You might end up bending the pedal arm some to get the kind
of slack you need. Done that.
