im lowered and i still have the same clearance as most do with any aftermarket y. but i custom made my duals so i could pay attention to the height.

i will never go back to a y pipe. x is the only way to go with its power and sound.

anybody have dyno numbers with ypipe setup and then re-dynoed with true duals setup? I would be curious to see the difference in numbers.

I won't lie, Sometimes I do.

The shitty roads around here can cause a issue, I think my ground clearance is O.k but Can be improved if I had a drive-up type lift rather then some jack stands.

The drone on the inside can be too much on a decent cruise, Coming through the town or leaving somewhere too late at night or leaving early in the morning can be interesting because its LOUD and I feel bad if I'm waking up the neighbors or somebody else's neighbor.

What I love is the sound, It can't be beat I love the deep rumble and I'm sure most of that is because of the turn downs under the car. If I go back to a catback it would be because I'm out in the streets too late or want to fire the car up and take it to work early in the morning on a nice day and don't want to ruin a good thing by pissing off the neighbors even though they say they don't mind.

BTW: I have TSP Duals with 18'' Bullet mufflers. My lowest ground clearance issue is the drivers muffler for some reason the tip will scrape every now and then on a shitty road. My driveway offers the biggest challenge with the duals as it did with my ORY & Catback setup.

My driver side tip is the same way and only scrapes with a lot of people in the car or on shitty roads. I guess everyone has those times when your like I wish my car was quiet, but the positive times far outweigh the negatives!

This sound clip is untuned.. 226/232 113. lts, x pipe, sweet thunders, ran over axle. Besides some of the banging that goes on, they are def worth it. Although, I do miss having my y-pipe with a cutout. Now i'm just loud all the time. I bought a upper panhard bar so I could get my duals to fit over the axle with ease.

One of my favorite mods! Makes the car sound soooooo much better!

I sectioned out the floor pan beneath the rear seats so I am running fullsize mufflers (dynomax proflow) dumped before the axel with no drone. It sounds about like a magnaflow catback on the inside. My ground clearance is as good as stock as far as the duals are concerned, the lowest part of my system is the drivers side cat right beneath the seat.

Take the extra time and money to get the floor sectioned so you can run a real muffler, that way you wont ever have any regrets about doing it.

Also I am still using my backseats, they are almost unchanged and people cant tell a difference. They are as "comfortable" as they ever were.

Duals sound better and give a little better performance when done correctly. But it's been beaten to death on this forum and honestly unless your making 500+rwhp I wouldn't worry about having duals. IMO

Well at least I'm not the only one then. I'm sure I can tuck it up more I just have to get it on the right lift.

thanks for the info smokedout!! i am really up in the air 50/50 on making the switch. my ory/magnaflow is a nice sound for sure. but its too quiet. you can barely notice the lope.

anybody do a before and after dyno on switching out a y pipe to a dual and vice versa? also im curious how much faster people ran with a set of tru duals over a ypipe and catback.

I can have one done by mid june... I still have my ORY with a Flowmaster single chamber dumped at the rear axle.

It would be interesting to see the change.

Yes, on both accounts. Local POPO around these parts don't like the noise either. He was even bitching about the fumes as I was not running cats. Going back to HighFlow Cats "Y" and a Magnaflow with an electric cutout.

Just a bit pissed as this is the fourth exhaust I have had on the car now

anyone have dyno numbers they can post switching from catback to true duals. I'm trying to decide if I would get any more low end torque going to TD's.

thanks in advance

Go to this web site and check out their daul set-up. My buddy is friends with the guy that owns this place and had his 9-second Camaro built buy them. This is the exhaust system he runs.

I know a few people that have had y-pipes, then gotten true duals, and then back to y-pipes. Sure they will sound better and give you a little more power, but they can be LOUD as well. Maybe try to get a ride in a true dual car and see if its for you.
