Default 2 month old MSD wires = CRAP! Found out why I could hear my engine in my stereo...

These wires have been on my car for 2 months. They are cracked in several places on 3 different wires on the passenger side. It looked like they were arcing out and burning their shielding. You can see where the escaping electricity turned the red rubber coating grey. I was able to trim the wires and run them differently, so my car is functioning again, but I am ordering some Taylors or Moroso's ASAP!

i had a set of msd's that would make noise through my stereo(all aftermarket) and i broke one so only thing i can find in my small town is stock replacments and it stoped with the new wires for a wile then came back.

it has some thing to do with the grounding on the car because it will only make the noise with the key on and if i have a door open and every thing else is close and i shut the door.

The wires are fine when they aren't cracked. Something made these crack and short out, and where they cracked was nowhere near the engine.

I have never ever seen that before. I guess a bad lot of rubber could be the cause but also something on the car could have done it.

MSD wires are good wires. Grannatelli wires are IMO the best you can get but they are not cheap.

Taylor wires aint worth a crap. The wire will break in the boot if you dont hold your mouth just right.

Many apologies Mike....I ended up getting offered afternoon shift Overtime and must've forgot. We'll have to hook up after I come back from Vengeance. End of June ok. Until then it looks like I am going to be quite busy with work and just maintaining my lifestyle. End of June for sure. I will need you to go for a ride with me so you can tell me how the car feels.

They break very easy. The wire in the boot will break. They are garbage. I would not even open them up. I would just refuse the package if possible or send them right back.

Thats just what I would do. Even a brand new unbroken Taylor wire ohms out over 1.5k ohms.

Wow that's interesting, I've never seen that before.

I think there are people that have had bad experiences with all the major aftermarket brands. However, it would seem people have the worst experiences with Taylors.

I've had many people, including tuners, tell me the exact opposite!

I'm sure it doesn't happen to every car that has Taylors. Look at the majority of the big plug wire threads, most complaints are about Taylors malfunctioning in some shape or form. I'm just stating what I've read. Personally I have Accel's and they have served me well.

I wonder if I should pony up for a custom set of magnecors....
