what i did was buy a 3' piece of bulk hose.(i just matched the id. up with the stocker, and made sure it was rated for it) it was less than 7 bucks with clamps and vacumn caps for the tb. i just routed it so clearance wasnt an issue. went from the radiater directly to the recieving nipple.
a couple of zip ties should help you. just get black ones because theyll camaflauge better imo.

anywhere you can lol.

im hoping the mechanic that takes mah shiz apart will have a better idea.

bmr = crap. buy the ebay one it has a litle more thought in the design and is 1/2 the price.

or do it yourself. Hell a hose and some clamps.

Did you use air to remove all the coolant from the TB lines?? or did you leave it in there to heat up?

I noticed the same thing when I did a TB bypass. Then later on I theorized there is no damn reason to bypass it, so I just removed the hoses and capped off the y pipe and radiator nipple. That hose is too tiny to contribute to engine cooling anyway. This was about 6 months ago and I haven't had any problems since.

WHAT IS THE POINT of plugging the two nipples on the TB??

Cause theres coolant still in there if you plug it?

Wouldn't we want AIR or something in there? Maybe connect to the lid, to keep some fresh air flowing though it rather than have liquid (those who haven't used an air gun on the TB nipples to get all the liquid out).

My theory is if you dont rid all the liquid and CAP UP the nipples, you can indeed DO MORE HARM than good. You have liquid inside the unit which is NOT flowing, this it is boiling hot?

Or maybe i just don't understand the theory, im a newbie anyways.

Did you rid all of the water using pressure out of the two nipples (in/out) that you capped? Why cap them?

inquiring minds would like to know.

9833211:
I used a MIG welder to close off the end of the Y pipe. To seal the radiator nipple I used a 1.5" chunk of hose with a bolt in the end, and clamps of course. You could use the second method for both, or even cleaner, go to the GM parts counter and order two more of the cylinder head block-off plugs like you have on the back of the motor. Then just remove the Y pipe and put those in their place. That's what I'm going to do when I get around to it.

samz28:
I didn't cap the nipples on the TB, I was talking about the nipple on the Y pipe that goes into the heads and the nipple going into the radiator. Since I simply removed the hoses, they had to be capped off to avoid pumping antifreze all over the road.

I didn't bother to blow the coolant out since I left the nipples uncapped and don't plan to every use TB heat again. That stuff will evaporate in a short amount of time anyway. But it you plan to hook the TB heat back up at some time in the future, it might be a good idea to cap them to prevent spiders or hornets from building nests in there and plugging them up.

so for me, who did cap the nipples, i should probably uncap them and let the coolant go away. I spose when the ls6 intake gets put on this will be a moot point since the coolant is going bye bye.

just curious. I don't know so don't rag me. Does this coolant line only heat the TB plates? And what about the intake manifold? I wouldn't want coolant in there either. How does the ls1/ls6 intake get its coolant (if it does). bear with me, i just got the ls1 ..
