Default Help identify these plugs

I was out messing with the car this morning and found these connectors taped up. It was like this when I bought the car. EGR and TCS have been deleted. The TCS module I have in the shed has a 2-pin hookup and does not match either of these plugs. The three pin plugs were plugged together.

And when you look at the plugs/connectors, here is what they look like

There is a male and female 3 pin, and a 5 pin.

Any thoughts? I was seeing if I could remove the connectors on these and tape the wires up so I don't have a big clunk of tape around a decent sized connector.

Thanks
Andy

The blue rubber male is for the egr. The one with purple looks like the mass air flow plug. Do you have a MAF or a SD tune? The female ???

MAF is hooked up

EGR is blue

So the two that are/were plugged together are in question

No clue what those 3-pin plugs are. I checked my engine bay, and I don't see anything like that.

i think purple is for tcs. just see how far each wire extends and see how far it could go; it gives you an idea where a sensor was or soemthing

Well the a/c is removed but there is a 2 pin plug for that (not pictured). These 3 pin plugs were plugged together and taped up for some reason. I just can't thing for the life of my what they would have been used for.

And the purple one has to be from EGR because the TCS module has a 2 pin plug

I went and looked at my car when I made my first post and I have removed my egr/air/ac/. The blue one is for the egr. You are correct on the A/C its a 2 pin with a blue O ring. But that purple and the female I could not find on my car. My traction control/cruse has a 2 pin with a green O ring, brown and grey wire comming out of the cruse box and a grey and white wire in the harness. The only plug I can find on my car with the purple O ring is for the MAF.

Hmmmm. I wonder if this is this something that is 1998 car specific? I could look at my pin out assignments that I have printed out. And calculate by wire color, and try to trace it to the PCM.

One thing I want to try is have the car idling, unplug the two, and see if that makes a difference. If not, I might just remove the connectors and wrap the wires up all neat.

Yes the two 3-pin connectors are plugged into each other as they are in your first photo but we deleted his egr so the blue 5-pin plug is now just hangin out.

So I could theoretically solder all three of those wires together and lose the connector and still be good. I just don't see the point of that connector. If its meant to be plugged together, why even have the connector in there???

You could solder them together but during your next mod you might be cutting wires and not remembering where they go!

That plug is an extension of the cam position harness. That was only on the 98-99 year f-body cars. It has to be connected.

I would leave it be. All you need is to have an issue after doing that and then what? Off to the dealer to get the harness?

True. But nothing should happen if I solder the right wires to one another. It's basically taking the place of the connector no?

EDIT: Even if I take the connector apart and inline splice then with some spade connectors or something. I dont know

Take the connector apart ,clip the terminals back together ,solder them and heat shrink. Its a no brainer.
