For those of you who said no,did you ever had one????
Well i did for 8 years, and car ran fine.As a matter of fact when i took if off and went back to the stock maf (because of a mail order tune) i did notice a decrease in power. So i re-sent my computer back in for another tune.Still waiting on it to arrive.

He just asked if it was worth it, and it's not. You don't have to own one to know that.

exactly. its been proven time and time again. your car may have run better but some seem to go a little south. even if you gain 5hp, which is unlikely, thatd be $20 per hp, which is terrible when gaining a tiny 5.

So you think waisting money on something that gains virtually nothing over the stock piece is worth it? Whatever floats ur boat I guess... but if thats the case, why did you switch back to the stock one?

I say NO too. It hard to to get a good tune on those. Stock MAF is for 500 hp. To put it simple, if you have a LS6 intake, all you need is the stock MAF.

Back to stock maf because i finally got a tune. You cant do a tune with those mafs, say my tuner FROST.lucky i still had it.Just to let you know back in 98 all that was available for mods where a hypertec programmer and the gmafs.I had to wait until late 98 just to get headers and all they had was shorties back then.

You can tune with them but it's more difficult to correct the MAF table and even then it's not very consistant (so I hear). Which is one of the main reasons we are telling him not to get it, that and he won't gain a damn thing, so why would you recommend it to him?

GMAF=Detonation in mine. Went back to stock... problem solved. I'd say put the $100 toward something else.

Hell no...problems just waiting to happen. Try a cutout...loud as hell and will gain some power for cheap. To be honest....car will feel faster but sound like ***...
