Default My E-Cut...Need A Straight Answer

I have an E-Cutout on my TA...other mods in sig.
Some people tell me w/ the cutout open it does use more fuel.
Some say it doesnt.
The questionWith the cutout open does it use more fuel???

Right now my cutout is closed because w/the air on, that I know uses more fuel. I dont need to be filling up my tank 2X a week.

Why not just run a tank with it open, then one with it closed???

it might use a tad bit more, but it shouldn't really be all that noticable. But then again, i only run mine with the cutout open from time to time, and usually not more than a day or two, then i close it back up.

Count the days?? Just measure MPGs. Fill tank, reset trip meter, drive till empty and refill. Divide number of gallons driven by number of gallons it takes to refill.

Yes, going from closed exhaust to wide open exhaust will have an effect on how the PCM acts with fuel delivery.

Can you tune the computer not to go rich with an exhaust cutout?

Your right foot, on the right pedal will have a far greater impact on fuel mileage then having your cutout open or closed. If anything, I'd say having the cutout open or closed won't make anykind of measurable difference.

Agreed. The right foot controls a lot more than the force of acceleration.

I agree...its a V8 sports car which Ive wanted since I was 8Yrs. old so I really shouldnt complain.

As far as keeping the cut-out closed I really didnt see much of a difference...I did notice the car is a tad bit faster though.
