looks like l33, or l76
it has 90mm tb,
so if it has 799 or 243 casting its a cathdral port 4.8 or 5.3
if casting is 823 or 4 digit casting( i forget the exact numbers) its a l76/l92 heads 6.0 iron engine
it is def. gen IV 2006+

Impressive Neme! That is an area I am not good at....casting numbers and which is which. Never paid much attention to that. But, I see you do

That would be a 2007+ engine...I'd say 5.3...And you could look at the TB connector...wether or not it is a 6 or 8pin...6 pin 2007 and I believe it changed to 8 pin in 08...

IT almost looks like a cast iron block, but is very hard to tell in the pictures. It has the same mount as a truck or SUV and I'm not sure whether the SSR shared the same engine mounts. If it is an iron block it's definitely not from an SSR as these only came with the L33(aluminum 5.3) or LS2(aluminum 6.0). Both of these engines have the 243 or 799 cylinder heads so that is not a good means of identification. I agree that it is 06-up because it has the new style fuel rails not the old plastic log type.

Have the seller take a picture of the back of the block where the size is cast into it. This will give you a shot of the block material and whether it's marked 4.8/5.3 or 6.0 will help to further I.D. it.

yes, same casting used. regular steel valves
it should be marked with a paint dab to deignate the displacement
4.8/5.3
should a have a small paint mark next to the engine size
either in front or rear block

Yes, that is correct. All of the '07-up 4.8/5.3 and the L33 H.O. 5.3(04-up) have 243/799 heads.
