Default My little comparisson with SLP LM1 VS TS Rumbler vs stock SLP...idle clips inside

well, to start off...My car came from the factory with the SLP catback so it sounded pretty good to begin with. I then added Hooker competition 1 3/4" long tubes, Pacesetter ORY and the stock SLP center mount catback. I like how it sounded, but it was way too quiet. Didnt even sound like I had headers on the car.....

I then picked up a LM1 exhaust from my buddy. Put that on and adapted my center mount tips to it (pain in the ***). The car sounded good idling, and WOT, but around 2500rpms it was raspy as **** and IMO, sounded like ***.....then the fun began.

I added a MS3 cam and the LM1 HAD to go. It was rediculous sounding and was even raspier...here's a idle clip....In person, when it was idling it sounded like fire crackers were going off in my exhaust tips. It scared little children and would set off car alarms within a 2 mile radius. The attention was too much for me.

Then, I took off the LM1 and sold it, and put my stock SLP catback on with the cam....heres a idle clip for that...

it sounded really good and had a nice deep tone, but it was too quiet. Rolling with my buddys, I couldnt even hear my car WOT. Also, my car was dyno tuned with the cam with the LM1 exhaust, and I felt like I noticed a power decrease on top end after I put the stock catback back on.....so I decided to change things up a bit.

I bought the texas speed rumbler. Kept the dynomax muffler/resonator or whatever you want to call it on there and my buddy gave me a pair of Bassani stainless mufflers off his 03 terminator. I put one of the bassani mufflers on where the stock mufflers lay on our cars, and adapted my center mount tips to it....all I hafto say is WOW. I finally found my exhaust I really like. The cam thumps hard, there is NO rasp anywhere and its not nearly as loud as the LM1, although its loud...its a good/deep sounding loud, not like the just screaming obnoxious loud you get from the LM1. I dont have a idle clip up yet, but I will post one up tonight. Needless to say, im very happy.
