Default Keep cutout or get GMMG?

I currently have a cutout in my stock Firehawk exhaust. The drone is kinda getting to be, but I love the electric plate option where I can open and close it at well.

I have always loved the GMMG sound an the lack of drone is VERY appealing.

On stock exhaust manifolds and cats, which do you think is better?

Also, how do you feel about purchasing a used catback? I think I would only get the GMMG if I could find it used.

Thanks for the info!!!

Which exhaust do you have? My buddy has a Firehawk that we put the SLP Loudmouth exhaust on and it sounds awesome. Nice deep growl at idle. When you are cruising you can barely hear it. But when you get on it, it sounds like a freakin funny car. The thing just has a real nice muscular scream at WOT. Lets put it this way, when he had the stock SLP exhaust on there (the one with the muffler) people would race him. Now he revs and they wont even pull up unless they now they can run or they just want to see a show.

Ah, so that's why no one tries me...

Keep your power plate.
Buy one of many great affordable catbacks... Maganflow, Hooker, etc.
Put cutout again and replace power plate.

I would probably end up putting the cutout into the GMMG, but I am just trying to justify buying the GMMG. Although, selling the cutout would help pay for the GMMG, so I am still not sure.

Or get a Loudmouth if you're keeping stock manifolds and cats. Highest flowing catback.

I still say go with Hooker and re-use the power plate with a cutout in the new I-pipe.

I dyno'd a gmmg exhaust with a cutout and it lost no power with the cutout closed. Just thought you might want to know.

So with the cutout open and closed, you had the same HP?

My Qtecand I have a love/hate relationship. I am thinking of buying a GMMG or LM myself because of the drone and the exhaust leak noise I get from the QTEC. I LOVE the fact that I can quiet this thing down at will.People are thoroughly impressed when I make the car quiet or loud by touching a switch. I know it has gotten me out of at least two tickets but it just flat doesn't sound as good as the GMMG or loudmouth.

I'd also like to drop the weight of this stock exhaust. The GMMG and LM HAVE to weigh less than this 55gallon drum I have under the car now.
