Default Band Clamps

Has anyone had good luck with a specific kind of band clamp? I have not found one that does not leak really.

best way to seal a band clamp is to put aluminum foil underneath it. seals perfect. any of them work good

I've had better luck with Duraseal clamps and slotting the pipe that overlaps to give it room to compress.

Band clamps themselves won't seal by design (just look at it and you'll see why), and they don't develop enough tension to compress the pipe itself down to seal.

I use the aluminum HVAC tape, a few turns of that
and you have a nice undergasket that the bands
only have to protect.

Exactly. I will first wrap it around and then start the car to feel for any leaks. Then I'll apply the band clamp once it seems sealed.
