Help Me ID this Noise *Video*
LT headers in general will give you "header tick"... just something about having LT's on a car that gives everything a different sound. Not saying that's your problem, but it could be. Mine have a "tick" to them. But they don't seem near as bad as yours... my 2nd guess would be valvetrain. Very well could be a bent pushrod... loose rocker...
Here is a another check, a lot of the answers so far are good answers but I have run across a coil arcing or grounding and that will make a tick similar its a easy check just look at it in the dark you will see it if its there. Another thing worth noting is to me it does sound metal against metal but nothing to major sounding, could be what others have suggested, but it could be a wrist pin also. Without actually being there it is hard to say.

My car sounds exactly like yours after i had a comp cam 224/224 LSA 12+4, new springs, 7.425 hardened push rods, LS2 timing chain and UD Pully. My installer tells me it is normal and is the more aggressive set up. So as others said, it could be normal?

Im having the same ticking sound but mines coming from the drivers side....I can hear it from the top and when i get under the car on that side i hear it also. I thought it was exhaust leak but it's not. I checked plugs, plug wires, coil packs but still get the same ticking sound. It very irritating! My ride seems fine and runs good....cant figure it out. I'm really starting to think its an internal issue. I'm thinking rocker arm or pushrod.
my car makes the same sound.... so did my 2006 impala SS with the LS4.... i always thought it was normal....
and as someone else said, it goes away mostly once the engine is warmed up, at least my tick does....

same problem here i go under alot of bridges and tunnels and it pisses me off, i cant figure it out for the life of me hopefully someone has an answer besides "normal" for this!!!
