That should work nice, the sender tip should contact way more coolant than the autometer 2277/2259. You should get a good reading.

I figured if the coolant hits the tip, the brass will soak up the heat so the whole adapter and sending unit shoudl heat up nicely

Giving back as this post was very helpful in my search for an water temp sensor adapter.


Equus Oil Pressure & Electronic Temperature Metric Adapter Kit

Five fittings for the same price as the one Autometer 2277 fitting. The M12 x 1.5 adapter has a big enough diameter for almost any 1/8 NPT water temp sensor fittings. No need to drill it to increase the inner diameter. With a crush washer and Teflon tape, it worked perfectly on my LS2 with an aftermarket water temp gauge.
