What happened to all the LSX intake hype?
, its on my birthday list next year.
Wilson is also making both the 77mm and 90mm billet TBs for it. They use OEM TPS and IAC. Only cable throttle available at first because the C5 throttle-by-wire is tricky to duplicate/adapt. I'm guessing they will adapt the motor and geartrain from the OEM C5 throttle body.
looks like l'll be getin one in a few months if those numbers hold up
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
Yeah, I talked with both Katech and Wilson also. I believe Wilson did the airflow design and testing, but Katech may have tested them also. Katech had some interesting stories abut building the 13.6 L V-16 for GM. Yeah, the 1000 lb-ft hype from GM was a fib...Katech has gotten 1015 lb-ft on the dyno.
My take is that if 15-18 hp over the LS6 doesn't pan out in independent testing, a TON of tooling money for the manifold won't get recouped. I couldn't get anyone to admit how much it cost to tool these manifolds, but my guess is it would buy a few Z06 Vettes.
I'm not sure where your info comes from, SS, but your location says a lot.
Personally, my guess at total design, development, tooling and initial marketing was about 4 Z06s. I guess Hofstadter's law applied here.
Just wondering, are you saying that the LS1 intake makes more power than the LS6...I cant wait to get some reviews on the LSX looks to be a great design.

Like someone already said, it sounds like it will be around 30 over the LS1. More of course with H/C. I guess I better start saving

The quote was meant to say that an LS6 intake makes about 12 more hp than an LS1, and the LSX made about 18 more than an LS6 for a total of 12 + 18 = 30 over an LS1 intake. Those were the numbers quoted to me. My guess is that's at the flywheel as that is how most engine testing is done. The good thing is they said there were increases at every rpm from 2000 up with no losses.
I'm sure we'll see lots of chassis dyno tests and drag strip runs with all kinds of engine combinations when the production manifolds hit the market. I'm guessing most will show gains over LS1 and LS6 manifolds. That's why FAST, or at least their owners, invested the big bucks for this item.

Lets just hope it does make at least 30 hp of the LS1 intake, cause if not, they will be kicking themselves in the *** for spending loads on R&D.

...location says alot doesnt it......
