slp 85mm maf worth it?

Default slp 85mm maf worth it?

who has one and notice a difference in the diameter vs. power gain? is it worth it or just leave the stock one in. i descreened mine a while ago and my car didnt like it. leaned it out tooo much and swaped the stocker back in. what do you guys think?

i personally think money is better spent elsewhere :dunno:. if you do get it have have your car tuned with the new maf, that'll be your best bet to avoid any problems.

SLP MAF is the worst thing you can do for your LS1! The 100% stock MAF is the way to go.

I bought the SLP MAF a couple of years ago and put it on with the K&N induction kit mainly because it looked cool for when I opened my hood but for the money I spent between the MAF and the K&N induction kit the performance increase probaley wasn't worth it. Between the K&N induction and the MAF I paid around $450 which if I could go back I would spend the $450 dollars on something that will prove a little more power.

I have no problems with them I use them on most cars. I can`t say they have the hp increase they clame but I think deffinatly worth it for a heads and cam car.

I dynoed a standard size GMS MAF against an 85mm unit on my MTI 422ci engine. Both were tuned the same via a MAFT. The power was the same, just as expected. Why? Because the inlet of the LS6 intake manifold is smaller than either MAF sensor. There was no power lost in going to the 85mm unit (so it's NOT the worst thing you could do to your LS1...as was so exuberantly proclaimed earlier in this thread) but neither can it help the bottleneck at the intake manifold inlet.
