IMO, I think Magnaflow has the deeper sound. However, I like the sound of the Hooker CB better. Check out LS1sounds.com and see if it helps you make your decision. We have both on the shelf. Let me know if we can help get you fixed up!

Have had the Hooker on my car for the past 3 years and very happy with it. Not too loud around town but great sound at WOT, people always telling me they like the way my car sounds.

I'd say magnaflow sounds deeper but hooker sounds great as well. Hooker is really quiet at idle and SCREAMS at WOT (I'm judging off of a friend's car with a mid-sized cam and LTs). Hooker isn't too aggressive but sounds meaner at idle and still loud at WOT.

I absolutely love my Hooker muffler. I'll probably never change my exhaust. Just replace the muffler when need be I like it so much. Its nice & mellow until you get up in the RPM's, then it wakes up.

I think magnaflows sound pretty good. Havent really heard the hookers, so I cant speak for those.

Here's a couple of vids of my car with magnaflow.

Hooker for me. It is almost stock sounding with no mods and almost embarassing loud with H/C etc.....Yeah the stall makes it loud..

Magnaflow sounds more old school and Hooker sounds almost like an exotic on my car. Buddy has an MS4 383 MF so i have heard them both side by side. Can't go wrong with either....

My friend has magnaflow and sounds a pretty deep at idle. He has LT's and ORY

I on the other-hand, have a cam with LT's/ORY and hooker CB. Sounds good yet mellow at idles, but SCREAMS when give into the gas.

You pretty much cant go wrong with any of them. JUST DONT GET THE CHOKEMASTERS!!

Also realize the ypipe has a lot to do with the sound. Getting a better y-pipe with a good merge, in my case I had a custom one made, will change the sound of your exhaust a lot.

I've got a Magnaflow with Kooks LT's ORY and a Cam and I love the sound. It is very mellow at idle then wakes up a ton when your wide open. Honestly there is not a ton of difference between the two. I had Hooker ORY and LT's on my 98 car. Since your running cats your not going to get the rasp that the Magnaflow has and it should sound deeper than a ORY.

i like the sound of the hooker. Its just hard to get summit just keeps pushing back the ship date. What I dont like about the hooker is the tips come out to far past the rear bumper.

I love my Hooker with the CME tips. Sounds great. I have cats on my ARH headers. Its perfect. because sounds mean but not too loud but at WOT its really loud. NO RASP is a big plus !
