Intake and throttle body opinions
Hey, I'm putting together a basically stock 6.0 with some bolt ons. Going to throw on a set of LTs and an intake and throttle body. Looking at the 96mm professional products intake and the 92mm jantzer throttle body. Any opinions?

Haven't heard much about the professional products manifolds. For a stock 6.0 and if you have the money go for a F.A.S.T 92MM and the Nick Williams 92MM TB but if not just go with an LS2 manifold and a LS2 TB but I guess it depends on which heads you are using. If your not using LS2 Heads and your using LS1/6 heads just go with an LS6 manifold and ported TB.

Most of the guys on this board either run Fast or Ls6....I chose PP 85mm Intake w/ matching tb because I didnt want the stock look of the LS6 and I wasnt paying the Fast's price tag.

Also forgot to mention something...also gunna be cammed if it matters any...not really wanting to fork over the extra amount of money for what would be a minimal gain. Unless I've read wrong, I've seen where the fast 92/92 setup gains 21 hp over the ls6 intake and the PP gains 17 hp over the ls6. Plus the PP comes with fuel rails crossover, and some fittings. With the fast stuff you have to buy that on top of the 1200 or more price tag, correct?

All Jantzer did was take and copy an inexpensive unit and did not even copy it correctly. Nothing but idle issues resulted from an improperly machined IAC port as well as sticking blades due to material selection and machining. It was a poor copy by somoene who is not an engineer and did no testing, all he did was steal someone elses design and then produced a poorly working version of it.

Stay away from Jantzer TB's would be my suggestion. We offer a Wilson 95mm that would be better.

He wasn't talking about porting a stock tb was he, I thought he was looking to buy a 92mm ? And yes I even had an issue with a few customers with some of his ported tb's and sticking blades as well. I sold his TB's and ported TB's for a while I am very aware of the issues with his stuff as well as the dishonesty involved with him.

i'm a BIG fan of the FAST intakes.
i tested it myself and got what i considered huge gains.
i got it used with a FAST tb and $300 worth of injectors for $1200 shipped. it was even lightly ported by LPE...i ported it more at home with a dremel and 2hrs of time.
on my cam only/bolt-on car....i swapped out my ls6/ported TB for the FAST ....it was tuned before and after so the A/F was consistent...done on the same day, same dyno (never unstrapped it, swapped the intake ON the dyno):
18hp and 12ftlbs
5-10hp and ftlbs from 3000rpm and up...NEVER lost power even down low
moved my peak torque down 500rpm
engine peaked at 6400rpm...not what i would call a "top end cam" and it still showed NICE gains
i have no doubt you'd gain 1/2 that even if you were strictly bolt on. it just flows that much better.

as stated above...the extra money is WELL worth it.
all the stock hardware swaps over to the FAST setup...fuel rail, injectors, throttle cable, gaskets (except TB obviously). hell even the stock bolts (except valley cover...and those come with the intake) can be used it THINK, although the FAST includes those anyway.
so for the $1200 you get a direct swap....although a tune may help some cars. i know i was lean after it.

I was under the impression that the 17 hp gain was on a stock car and not a heads cam car since the before output was in the 320 hp area. Was not aware of the problems with those TBs though. Im not much on a plastic intake myself. I know there's the argument over heat soak, but I don't see as how the air is inside the intake itself long enough to make much of an effect. Initial start up would have major heat soak obviously, but not believe it after that. Also, if for some reason the car backfires, I'm not picking up pieces of my intake.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...oon-print.html Thats directly from the horses mouth.
I have a few buddies that picked up the old fast 90's for 500 bucks...Little port job and a matching tb and you'll be good to go...If not then go w/ the 96mm pp intake and 90mm or above tb. For you guys telling him to run a ls6 intake and pp tb hes running a 6.0 motor not a ls1.
