Not many guys running Borla Fbody catbacks anymore. Any reason?

+ 1 for Borla. I actually was going to buy a hooker cat back from a sponsor, then I came across a great deal someone selling borla catback for $200. Needless to say I bought it. It was actually pretty quite when my car was bolt ons, then I added a cam and it got loud. Don't get me wrong I love the way it sounds, I get alot people looking over when I come to a stop light....lol...Its also an open plate, thinking about putting e-cutout on it but dunno yet. Here is only vid I have of it with borla exhaust....

I only got a borla because I got a used one for $300 or $400 shipped. Theres no way in hell I would pay $900 bucks for a few lengths or bent stainless steel and a fake muffler.

I removed my Borla and went Magnaflow after installing LT's and OR Y because of the obnoxious sound with the Borla.
The built in provision for a cutout on the Borla however is a pretty good idea.

My car had the Borla on it when I bought it. It was on the car for a few years and I hated it. The tips were always crooked because the rubber hangers start cracking and ripping over time and they just didn't look good in my opinion.
Also the catback whistled at WOT which wasn't cool at all, no matter what plate was in. In my opinion the stainless Gibson I replaced it with is much better and a lot cheaper.

I have had 3 borla exhaust systems since I owned the car and each time i realize why I love it. I got this last one for 100 bucks from a good friend. Yes there are cheaper exhaust and i know money can be tight as im a college student and know about that, but as many ls1 gent's know you have to pay to play.

I love my Borla XR-1!
But their adjustable cat-back is just too costly and too dang raspy with long-tubes.
Neither GMMG or Corsa seem to be much better at price or sound.

I bought mine back in 03 I think for 600. Ive added an electric cut out. I like it I guess. Im gonna keep it. I like the versatility. If I was to buy a cat back now, I would not buy borla for that price - What is it made of gold or somthing???
