bpowell hasn't posted anything anywhere on LS1tech.com in almost a year, I think he's gone.
I'm still wondering, nobody ever responded to my question, posted twice. Surely, somebody knows?
The setup shown above has a four barrel throttle body between the elbow and the intake manifold.
The other way to do it is the elbow directly on the manifold with a stock style throttle body in the inlet tube just after the air filter.
Which method is better, or produces more power?

Resurrecting from the dead instead of starting a new thread. I have a stock cubed 346 that I am going after the GTO stock bottom end rexord with. I am spraying a 250 shot. I had a NW92tb and and a fast 92 intake. I hade a nitrous backfire so I switched to the super Vic and bought a 6061.com elbow and was planning on running my 92mm tb. Would I be better off with the 4150 or 4500? Or will my setup not need that much air nor have a restriction worth swaping parts over. Last thing I want is to lose power from the fast 92 to the super Vic.

My super Vic already has a nitrous outlet spray bar built into it. So what are all the parts I would need to run a 4150 or 4500. Where do you put a filter? I'm guessing you are then forced into speed density tuning?

Well I am most of the way there. I already have a super Vic, fuel rails and fittings
. So the carb had becoming a elbow and down to a filter is not as much a restriction as the standard 92mm tb to a elbow to the Vic? So I'm guessing the 4150 or 4500 just help straighten out airflow and give equal distribution to all cylinders?

Yeah, with a 4150/4500 TB, there are no bends at all; just straight up and down. The issue for most is having to cut the cowl and clearance issues with the hood. If you run the Scorpion TB, you can use the stock hood because of its lower profile over TB's like Accufab and FAST.

I have the set up you're looking for on my GTO,I'm using an accell 1250cfm tb.I'm going sd with a regular 4 barrel air cleaner on top.I had to get a couple of harness extensions for the iac and tps.

oh I have no problem making my own extensions and soldering lol. The scorpion has me intrigued. I think I am still going to do a carb had and run it to my svede intake instead of a round carb style filter. I just need to make sure I buy all the right assecories and brackets and such. don't want the car to be down that long.

I'm just going to run the oval air cleaner (no carb hat) and go speed density.I modified my stock cable and bought bought the extension harnesses. I bought a bracket off of ebay and that I then bolted a modified stock ls1 bracket to it so I could reuse my shortened stock cable.

The cable end is jegs pt. no.=555-15730, but the one you'll need depends on the throttle body you buy.I just wanted you to see what the end looks like. The bracket I bought off ebay search for 4150 throttle cable bracket and you'll find them.
