Default Sell the BBK SSI for a FAST setup?

I have the BBK SSI now with a stock throttlebody and
Am debating on selling it to get a FAST intake and throttlebody. I feel like I should have went the FAST route
In the first place. If I do keep the BBK I was going to get the
BBK TB so my set up will be about 650 for intake and throttle body vs 1200 for the FAST setup

I have headers now and will be putting the streetsweeper cam in the car in the spring.

Let me know what you guys think

IMO the money could be spent better elsewhere. You should see a slight increase in hp with the FAST (especially when the cam goes in) but prob not a lot.

The BBK seems to be an aluminum equivalent to the LS6. THe FAST should be worth 10hp or so. Your on the right track, I loved mine!

I figured most would tell me to keep it, I was just thinking since I was going to buy the 85mm BBK throttle body maybe it would be worth it to switch, sounds like I should stay.

the BBK is in between the LS6 and the FAST. As stated your biggest gains will be making the whole intake 85mm. So a bigger lid, MAF and TB would be worth your while

i say the cost is worth the added power and portability of the FAST.

that cam will really like the added airflow

my home ported FAST gained 18hp/12ftlbs over my LS6. gained power over the whole curve..never lost power.

considering you can recoup some $$ by selling the BBK and stock TB...the price isn't THAT bad.

Id sell the BBK, you'll lose weight and gain power. A step in the right direction. They are relatively cheap used too.

If you can get 650 for your set up and then find a fast intake for 700 or 800 then i would do it, but if your going to spend the money for a brand new one ( $1200 ) i would stick with the BBK and just put an 85mm TB on. To me the cost would not be worth the small gain you would get by going with the FAST.

FAST. Dont let others sway you in not getting it. There is no other better intake the FAST. Sure its expensive and the material used could have been better. But overall its worth the gains, and once you add a cam and heads it will really wake up. IMO

So there is a FAST 90 and also a FAST 92? So the 90 is the old one?

fast 90 is the earlier model. and the 92 is the newer model for cathedral port heads. they have minor differences. like the tb mounting tabs ont he intake have reinforcement, and obviously the whole is 92 mm and not 90mm. power gains arent much if any from each other, from what i have seen.

Right now with my setup if I get the BBK 85 mm TB , I will have $675 into my setup, I see that the FAST intake is $849, plus $400 for the TB, plus $60 for the coolant pipes. So $1309. Is it really worth it for that price? Its double what I will have into mine. I am debating on selling it, I was actually just about to post it up for sale, just hate spending that amount of cash if its really not worth it.

don't waste your money on a stock cubed engine unless you find a sucker who will pay a large amount for your intake and you can score a FAST for $500 or under and a tb for under $150

your current intake is already supposed to be a little better than the ls6

if anything look for a deal on a used 85mm tb and call it good...otherwise IMO you might end up paying a lot of money for 5-10hp

you would be better off putting heads on during the cam swap with the extra money you would have tied in a FAST
