Update: Help with pully removal? Problem.
A friend and I took a second look at my problem. Truns out with the new pully I bottomed out the bolt. The threads in the crank are actually tapered deep inside. We found this out using a micrometer. The old GM bolt was used to torque to the new specs and when I took it out it looked like I stripped the threads which I didn't. Maybe my crank wasn't properly done in the factory or something as I have never heard of a bottom out problem. The bolt bottomed out in the crank. I had to shorten the bolt, because I wasn't using anything other than the new GM bolt. Anyway I don't know if this makes sense, but just something to look out for. Problem is fixed and no threads were ruined. Pully is on and tracks the belt fine. Several high rpm revs to make sure the belt had no slipping issues. Just wanted all of you to know as I have never heard of this problem what I experienced.
