Default What MAF do I use with 92FAST TB?

Finally my engine is coming together. I've got a 92mm FAST Intake and TB. What are my options for the MAF?My stock MAF seems way to small and would defeat the purpose of getting the bigger TB correct? If anyone can advise what they are using or what would work I would appreicate it.

No...thats assuming your engine flows more than your MAF can handle, and it doesnt.

Keep the stock one, theres more to an intake than the opening....

IF you MUST to change it, you can get a 100mm+ MAFs from many places, but that will require a tune. Right now you can just bolt on the FAST and go....fast....lol

Its going to need a tune anyway. I put in a comp cam, vavle spring, torque converter the intake and tb. If i can still use the stock MAF how do I make it fit to the 92mm tb just get an air tube to fit over the tb and then make the other end tighten down on the MAF?

Here are a few choices and where you can get them.

100MM Lingerfelter - Fast Toys Performance
103.5MM PowrMaf - Tick Performance
100MM Texas Speed & Performance

You will just need to get a silcone reducer/adapter to connect the two.

Thanks Jeane, do you think I would be able to use the stock MAF like sweets10 suggested or would I be defeating the point of having the FAST 92mm TB?

You can do it and you will still see a gain. Though you will see more gains without the restriction. If you're doing a tune you can have a SD tune done and do away with the MAF all together.

sounds like that is the way to go since I'm getting the engine tuned etc..... any downfalls to getting rid of the MAF and doing the SD? I wouldn't think so if its being tuned out.....

with you being in Illinois the temperature differences season to season could mess up your SD tune, other than that you will be fine

Its a 69 Camaro so the car won't be coming out during fall/winter only spring/summer so it shouldn't be to bad.

You pay a tuner to tune your car so why should you care how hard they have to work?

Why would they hate me? A tune is a tune I would think. I've got to decide who is going to tune it. I've got two in my area. It would seem getting rid of the MAF would be the cheaper route cause the car is going to have to be tuned etc.....

SD tunes usually cost more, there is much more work involved to cover all of the driveability areas. You would be fine with the 85mm MAF.

Thats what I'm thinking about doing, I think the 85mm MAF should do the trick. I wish I could use the stock one but I wanna get the most hp for my money. Thanks 69LT1Bird

Any salvage yard will have a used truck MAF, around here they are $30-$50.

Ebay has new ones cheap too.

I use an 85mm maf on mine.
They are cheap and common and take 2 seconds to reprogram for.
