The white 7 wire connector is the same for all LS coil harnesses. The connector that plugs directly into the coil is what changed. Match the small harness to your coils

Here's what you need to know: https://ls1tech.com/forums/11588987-post18.html

Here's the full (long-assed) thread ahowing anything and everything you'll need to know: https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...p-18-6-tq.html

As I recall, the 98's have the coils bolted directly to the valve covers. Is your car like this?

Thanks Paul for the info, its your thread that originally gave me the idea to use truck coils last summer ,if I would have just gone back and read it again, would have answered some questions.
I'm swapping my old LS1 for a new LQ9 w/L92 heads it will have center bolt valve covers. And going to relocate the coils up under the cowl so no need for the brackets .Let me see if I have this right any coil wire harness that was OME for coil acD585 or what I call #5218 will work correct?

Paul my GM part source tells me the part # for the coil wire harness 12601824 is for the Mitsubishi coils not the 5218 truck coil with heat sink. They tell me the new GM part # for the 5218 coil is 89017477 .Let me know if this is correct.

The LS1/LS6 coils had their own plugs. Anything past the LS1, meaning LS2, LS3, LS7 and anything from a truck has the "LS2" style coil plug. These plugs will fit any coil except the LS1/LS6 coils. A differance in "LS2" style coil harnesses may be the length of the tails to the coils as some had the plugs on the output side.

So mitsubishi coil wire harness will work with 5218 truck coils, is that right? Which harness has the longer tails.

Yes and they should be there today unless yours is the one with the 90* boot request?
The harness is $68 to your door, it is numbered as well, I think it shows in the picture.

The bracket is lighweight aircraft aluminum and the hardware is stainless. (exept the threaded rod)

I don't think you'll find the answer to harness length here. From my research, the LS1/LS6 coils have their style of plug and everything else has the LS2 style regardless of who the OEM maker of the coil was.
