Default y-pipe w/cats or x/h w/ cats. Which way to go?

I'm getting pacesetters, and I can't decide wheiter it'd be better to get their y-pipe and weld in cats, or have a custom x or h made up. What would everyone recommend?

I was planning on going with Random Tech cats. The y-pipe is 180 from where I work, so I don't know if it'd be cost effective or not. Any help would be awesome!

I prefer a properly sized Y-pipe for weight and flow reasons. Others prefer an X-pipe (I think maybe they like the way it sounds or perhaps being able to use smaller pipe for a given flow affords better ground clearance for lowered cars.)

I prefer X pipe. Seen gains of 17RWHP/TQ under the curve compared to a traditional y-pipe setup.

Keep in mind, a Y-pipe has to be of the right size to outflow duals. I use a 3" into 4" Y-pipe. VERY free flowing to say the least.

anything is good as long as its matched correctly to the mods. That's the key to it all

remember, a Y pipe is made for the stock type single exhaust, while an X or H is for a custom dual exhaust

So let's say with these mods...

Pacesetter long tubes
TSP lid
free mods
loudmouth (if I kept the y)

Which would be better? Pacesetter y with cats or x pipe with cats? If I went with the x, what mufflers does everyone like? The bullits? I was on lanesperformance.com and my favorite sound was the formula outside with the draglights.

eeesh, I am so confused.
