Over or Under axle
Under screams half-assed job. When you bottom out the under style (you will) on a sharp dip, you will then bang against the axle with the rebound of the suspension
God forbid you ever decide to lower the car
Rule of thumb: Over for solid axles. Under or through for IRS

rule of thumb, more air in more air out the more HP and TQ you'll get . . . plus it just sounds different. i was next to my buddy who had the same mods as me when i had lt's. we both had 3" true duals, difference was mine went under the axle and his came next to eachother and went over the axle . . . we couldn't hear his car and he could actually hear my car inside of his while he was driving in front of me.

It's not necessarily expensive.
I did TDs over the axle and it was only $470.
3" x-pipe, 2.5 after. I supplied everything, but the piping (not including x).

I scrape mine sometimes, but it's because it's a little lower than it should be (the exhaust not the car), haven't gotten it fixed yet (that's on steep driveway/parking lot declines).

Either way I feel you can't go wrong with either direction you want to go. Depending where you take the car going over might be more expensive than other places. In South Fl. everything is expensive, and there was only 1 place I knew of that would do it mandrel bent. Again though I do not regret going under, make sure to post pics when your done.
