Default help me decide on exhaust

Hey everyone. Hoping you guys can help me make my final decision on exhaust. My first question is do i need low profile cutouts or will regular work fine? Next is the headers. I believe I have it down to a few but I will also take suggestions. The hooker stainless are the top of my budget. I really dont want to hack anything on my car but i understand I may have to. Thanks in advance.

Hooker Stainless $525

jethot $500

pacesetter $400

ebay headers $200

likely the only thing you should have to "hack" is that small tab on the side of the block. it serves no purpose...leftover from the casting process.

if you have to hack your Kmember...the headers SUCK.

coated headers really do keep temps down and prevent burned plugs. but they don't last as long.

I picked up some ebay headers and they look great for the price. Stainless steel, welds look good. I have heard good things about them, bout the only bad is the emission hookups break off. That don't bother me as I am going to have them cut off before they go on. The other thing is the driver side collector is slightly curved up and I have heard that is bangs the floor board sometimes. They are cheap, which is a great perk.

Ive heard you have to notch the kmember for ebay and pacesetter headers. I will def get either coated or stainless.

i don't think the PS require it...

all i know is my "cheap" flowtechs had tons of clearance with the Kmember.

now the Ebay headers...well who knows...you get what you pay for

I've helped install three sets of Jet Hot LT's.

They seem to fit very well. We didn't have to cut any tabs or grind any K-members.

Bought all three sets from Mike at the Ws6Store. Great guy to do business with and certainly will again in the future. So if you decide to go with the Jet Hot LT's, highly recommend purchasing them from there.

I have those same eBay headers, from dptmotorsport, and the shop said there were no fitment issues at all. Nothing had to be ground down, or anything. I think they said they had to unbolt the AC compressor to get one in there though. But, that's no big deal. I love them. I would recommend them to anyone. I just ordered a set for my buddy yesterday. So, we'll see if his go in as easy as mine did.

Where are people getting that Pacesetters have any problems going on? If you had a problem with them it was either installer error or the car was jacked up.

95% of the time PS slide in with hardly any modification at all. I had 10000X's more problems with Mac mids than the pacesetters I have done. I will NEVER do an installation with Mac mids again.

Used kooks would be up there on my list.

+2. I've Installed A Couple Sets Of PS Headers And Had Little To No Problems Getting Them In. The Hardest Part Was Getting The Stock Exhaust Out Of The Way. I Would Look For A Used Set Of Kooks As Well Or Go With A Set Of PS Headers.

i got the coated hookers from speedtweekerz and the hooker ORY and LOVE it!!! they slid right in i didnt have to take off the steering knuckle, or trim the block or the K-member... i couldnt be happier with the hookers... only thing i didnt understand about them is the bolts they supply for the header bolts dont work on our cars and you have to use your stockers... but thats not a big deal to me... soak all your bolts down, save your self some pain agony and time!

Ive never sen the hooker stainless before. Are hooker stainless worth $100 more than pacesetter coated? I had jet hot on my lt1 and they were great but I always heard stainless is the best.

Even the best coated headers will eventually start to rust. Stainless is a superior metal that will far outlast coated steel. You do get what you pay for, but don't be fooled into thinking that just because one product is more $$ than another, it is better. I wouldn't put anything on my TA except stainless.
