Default Pacesetter header question

Will a set of Pacesetter 1 3/4" primary LTs and Y pipe off of a 2000 Formula fit on a 98 Trans Am?

Cool! I notice that when you buy them online they are 98-99 or 00-02 specific...

Only time theres any sort of "hang up" is if its an automatic convertible. So I've read...

But what you mentioned should be just fine.

They may be listed the years they are is because 98-00 cars have EGR and AIR. 01 and 02s only have AIR. Or you can delete them both and get the "race version". Depends on how strict your emissions are

^ This. The differences in the years are due to the differences in emissions equipment. Although they are listed from 98-99 then from 00-02. My 00 has EGR so maybe someone else will chime in. The "race style" headers will fit any 98-02 with no problem.

Yes, they will bolt up just the same. The difference in them are for emissions hook up.

If you plan on deleting your EGR/AIR, then the 00 header will bolt right up and you won't have any problems. If you plan on keeping your emission stuff, then you will have to modify in order to connect your 98 EGR to the 00 EGR fitting. Alot of people don't understand the difference in exhaust manifolds between the years, so I will try and clarify.

98-99 manifolds are exactly the same and come with EGR/AIR fittings in the exact same location.

00-02 manifolds are the same exact same manifold design, only the 00 manifold comes drilled and tapped for EGR, while the 01-02 does not.
