If i remember right it is the vac line that changes your blend doors when you change from defrost to vent.

yea that is from my 02...it mounts on the back on the drivers side on the intake manifold...then the line runs along the back and connects to the intake on the rear passenger side...if you have a fast or ls6 intake there will be a port...

if you want to change from your heat/ac blowing on the floor or as a defroster then yes you need it.

i am 90% sure it is the vacuum line that actuates the blend doors in the dash

Are you refering to the Delco box? If yes, you can remove it and the short U shaped vacuum line. Both are for the air system.

just remove the AIR system completely and plug the ac/heater vac line directly to the barb on the back of the intake

exactly...the blend doors are controled by the controls inside on the dash. all they need is vacuum supply.

Exactly what I did. Go for it. My hvac wasn't working for awhile so I took the intake completely off and found out a rodent ate through this vacuum
line. I was pissed
