LS6 install/air deleate help ASAP! Please.
I'm in the middle of putting the LS6 intake in. I removed the air and egr. On the back of the intake, there is a big hose(from the brake booster) and a little small hose. Should I hook the small hose back up or just plug the hole on the back of the intake? I thought I read something about doing that when you remove the air. Any help would be great. I want to put the car back together.
I just put it back on. Have to wait for my pcm to get back from Frost. I checked over the install and everything looks good so far. I did break the opsu. Napa had a new one though. Not a big deal.

I put the big hose( vac line that goes to the brake booster) in front of the opsu this time. So if I ever have to remove the intake, the opsu won't brake. How tight do you make the intake bolts? I tightened them by hand. I just made sure they were nice and tight. Don't want a vac leak.
lol well knowing what and where it is does help avoid breaking it... i did alot of research on this site before i did my intake swap so i knew what to expect... you don't have to tighten the bolts very tight... i used a small 1/4" ratchet on mine and snugged them up but they aren't too tight... if you have worked on cars a bit then you will know when to stop... if you go too far you could crack the intake or stretch the bolts... i'm sure someone will tell you to torque them to "x" ft lbs but who the hell really uses a torque wrench on something like that?... personally, the only thing i torque to spec are engine/trans internals
One more here that did NOT break the oil pressure sending unit.

I used a small ratchet also. Just tightened them down pretty good. Do you think I may have over tightened them? Could that cause a vac leak? Sure hope not. I didn't hear the intake crack. There are not crazy tight, but tight enough. Hard to explain.
i just swapped my intake for the first time in a f body and from the countless posts ive seen about people busting there sensor i was super carefull lol. never done one with the motor in an f-body before
You're fine. The only "too tight" you can get is if you tighten them out of sequence or if you crack the intake.
its pretty much impossible to get that lifter out the top, I'd say certainly impossible. Gotta pull the oil pan.
and for the record...just "tight enough" or a guess might do but is the wrong way. they have to be tightened in sequence and at a certain inch lb. which i believe is 44in lbs(first pass) 89in lb (2nd pass)if i can remember and dont mistake that for ft lbs.... maybe someone else can chime in. its been about 6 mo since i have worked on an intake. yes you can get them too tight as the threads will acually pull out from the head. we are talking about alumn heads now. good luck guys

lol
... it's pretty easy to avoid if you're careful... i'm a pretty small dude so i could get my hand in there to guide the brake booster hose over the top of the sending unit
