Do a search here on the forum, there's a ton of info on different kinds of intake manifolds, pros and cons, price and performance, etc. You also need to decide if you want to keep your egr provisions on there (not that you really need it)
The most popular would probably be an ls6 intake, it tends to be the least expensive, and perhaps the simplest to install. Anything else, such as the FAST brands will give you great performance, but at a price ($$$ not mpg).
I don't think there's an "ls1" intake in the world that would hurt your gas mileage anymore than what originally came on the first gen ls1s (by the way, you might want to make sure that you dont already have a good intake on your car being that you already have "a few after market parts done to the motor")

Im ran the FAST 92mm and I gained 21rwhp over an LS2 with no tuning! Although you cant get the 92mm anymore, FAST now hs made all of thier intakes 102mm. You can still bolt on a 92mm throttle body though if you want.
I have the FAST 102mm with a 90mm drive by wire throttle body myself.

you got that mixed up.
there have been 2 different intakes mentioned. there is the GM LS6 intake that will gain you about 7-10hp, and is available used for about $300 and use a stock throttlebody. then there is the FAST intake, they used to be 92mm openings, now they are 102mm. they cost upwards of $900 plus needing a new throttle body.
unless you have stacks of money laying around, or plan to go cam or heads/cam later on....stick with the LS6 intake.
none should hurt gas mileage, if nothing else they may improve it.
