Cross brace under y-pipe?
I just installed FLP headers with cats and y-pipe but i ran into a problem. The sheetmetal crossbrace that normally fits under the y-pipe does not fit in there any more so we just took it off because we did not think it is strong enough to do any thing anyways. So i was just wondering if anybody has taken this off or what the real reason is for it being their.

Why not just get some longer bolts and some flat washers to lower the brace? I know it's not much of a brace but do you think G.M. just installed it for the hell of it, a stronger brace would be something like the BMR tunnel brace. JMO

If I remember correctly the bolts are metric, if you have a fastner shop near you I would try them or someplace like NAPA ( AutoZone, Advance Auto also ) to get the correct size. You don't want the bolt too long or it will hit the floor pan.
Sorry but I won't be doing the Power Tour.
