K..I'll say this the nice way before someone else says it the mean way..

If you have COOLANT and only Coolant going through there, why would you have a Vacuum Leak?

I agree and have thought of that. Just wanted to make sure.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/advanced-...-air-temp.html

Did some calculations a while back - the heated T.B. only increased the temp of the air flowing over it by 1/2 a degree.

It seems that the small H.P. gains, if any, are a result of a slight reduction in under-hood temperatures after performing the tb bypass.

^yeah - the effects are small. It seems that the TB casing cools down a little bit when you do the TB bypass, which can theoretically reduce underhood temps slightly.

Again, we are talking about a very small effect here.

plus 1 on making it easier to take off the tb. and you can tuck up the hose better for a cleaner look.

stop being a ***** and just do it. go buy three feet of 5/16 hose and two new clamps. connect the crossover pipe to the ******* radiator, and be done with it. you'll have extra hose left over but whatever.

Like Merv said, no need to cap the TB ends...

For instance, if you take a drinking straw and cut a piece off of it about 1/2" long. . . thats about what is going on inside the TB. It passes straight through it. For mine, I pulled off the little pipes, ground out the hole and smoothed it up. Sorry I never took pictures to explain it better, but this portion of the TB is 110% completely useless. It won't cool the engine compartment, and if you noticed a difference in air temp from doing this, you've wasted too much time looking for miniscule factors of engine operation. Like has been said, it makes it 2 steps easier for removing the TB, cleans up a smidge of the engine compartment and teaches you a bit more about the operation of your car. WOW, this dead horse sure is beat.

is the coolant line even needed? I have an aftermarket radiator with no inlet for the tb line. Can it just be plugged by the intake and deleted all together? Seems like it

I guess if there was excess pressure it would go into the overflow tank. I don't know if the block needs to vent via that tube or something.

Doesn't seem like it is needed
