Help**Broken bolt**PICS Not sure if this thread is in the right place but I could use some input from any individuals who have some experience in removing broken or snapped bolts. I've added some pics of the damage. As you may see, I have already tried drilling it and backing it out with a reverse bit but that was a no-go. I have exhausted any means of removing it with the resources I have available in my garage. So any useful input would be appreciated[IMG]

I havent got it fixed yet. Currently trying to locate a tap & die set. figure I will give the helicoil a go but am still stuck at how im gonna get what is left of that bolt out. the initial hole I drilled wasnt centered correctly and so its off to one side leaving the other half still in there. and the bolt is flush with the block so tacking a nut on the end of it is out of the question.
Did you try heating it at all before you used the extractor? Usually if you heat the outside surface of the piece that is holding the bolt in, you can get them to break free with an extractor. At least that is how i have done it in the past. Its hard to tell from the pics, but it looks like your hole is far enough off center that even if you do get it out, you're going to be tapping and helicoiling anyway, because i'm pretty sure you ate up the threads on one side.
