Default LS6 Intake

I was looking to buy a LS6 intake and my question is whats the difference (if any) between a 02 trans am LS6 intake, 04 gto LS6 intake and the 03 Z06 LS6 intake. If there is a thread about this already i'm sorry for reposting.

Well someone can correct me if i'm wrong, but i think the ls6 intakes are pretty much all the same. Most ls6 intakes, from what i've seen, are advertised as ls1/ls6 intakes, or even z06 ls6 intakes. I'd say just make sure you get the right number 12573572, and you're good to go.

12561184 is another common one.

From the archives...
LS6 intake manifold (01-02 F-body) = 88894339 (formerly 88890524, 88890523, 12561184)
LS6 intake manifold (from Corvette Z06) = ? (formerly 12573572)

I had a weiand aluminum intake and the only time it would get hot was at idle. When I was driving around I could pull over and put my hand on the intake and it was cool. I don't need the intake to be cool at idle. It's when I am driving that I need it to be. I didn't go check out "LSX hardcore's" link, but I am guessing it was on a dyno and not on the street. Any engine on the dyno produces more heat while just idling. The incoming air when driving cools them down enough to actually gain power. Alot of people just read what people say here and think it's true, even though some of the people giving the information have never used these intakes before. Either way I swapped to a Fast 92/92 becuase the weiand was getting restrictive for my other mods.

Anyone have any recommendations on how to attach the throttle cable bracket if this is the case? I bought an LS6 intake and didn't pay attention to this small detail...

The ls6 i bought came off a zo6. I didn't have ANY issues with the install, you just bolt in the throttle body, bolt on the throttle cable bracket from the old ls1 intake (mine actually came with a new bracket), and taa daa, you're good to go

I have two empty plastic holes where the throttle cable bracket goes.... how do I bolt that up? I'm mechanically declined.... forgive me.
