Help with LS6 Intake Install
I bought an LS6 intake that I guess was off a vehicle with a drive by wire throttle body. I'm trying to install on 2000 TA and there are not threads to bolt the throttle cable bracket back to the intake manifold. Any advice on how to bolt the throttle cable bracket to the LS6 intake would be great.

I COULD be wrong (someone correct me if i am), but i'm pretty sure they used the EXACT same casting for the ls6 intake on whatever vehicle/year it came on. So even if it was on a ETC gto or vette, it's going to be the same as the one for a 2001-02 f body that had a mechanical TB. So, whatever it is you bought should have provisions for bolting on the throttle cable bracket, you'll just need to swap that from you're old intake.

Ok, in that part that you are showing me there are two holes, on my LS1 intake, those two holes have metal threads that are probably pressed in so I can put the bolts on. On my new LS6 intake, where the metal threads are pressed in, there is nothing, just two empty holes.

OOOOOOH ok, i see what you're saying. Why and how would they take out those threads??????? ... ... Maybe a bolt big enough to catch the plastic itself would work, you might have to enlarge the holes on the bracket; or glue the bracket in place LOL i know those suggestions suck... sorry. Let me look at my intakes and see if i can figure out a fix for you.

i know tis is a old thread and all but i need some help
i am looking for a part number for the ls6 intake throttle bracket where it has two cable mounts for the throttle and tv cable for my trans
any help would be great
oh by the way
removing nut inserts or installing them is very easy
a soldering iron in the center hole pushing the nut into the plastic when it heats up
and a small bolt threaded into the nut insert with a small butane torch heating the bolt up and pulling it straight out with pliers works great
i used to do this for a living making pices for ibm and hp
go figure 20 yr old technology
