Canadian your intake setup (well, the whole car) is badass !

I would love to build something like that for my car, I still think these lid setups are garbage and dont do **** except funnel restricted air.

Subscribing to see pics. I took my FTRA out because it caused cooling problems in Florida summers, more so with the A/C running. Wouldn't mind having a solution which didn't block as much of the radiator, but want to keep the bumper support because it's a daily driver.

Back in late 1999 when I owned a 1999 Z28 M6 hardtop I moved my battery to the trunk and had 3.5" plumbing from the MAF going over to a large hole that is located under the plastic battery mounting seat when removed and had a cone filter mounted behind the fog light hole in between the the trap door under the front bumper and where the battery used to sit. I picked up 2mph in the 1/4mile and almost .2 in the 1/4 mile.
I had to move the overflow tank which I went with a small universal overflow tank mounted on the inside of the frame rail in between the Radiator and AC compressor.

Also because of filter location its best not to drive it in the rain.I always had to baby it home if it ever started raining.

Yall have to remember back then no one was tuning these cars so there's no telling how much more 1/4mile time that could have been knocked off with a good tune.

Bump I want to see more pics of custom air intake setups when using the FAST 102/102 combo. Preferably single tube setups.

this setup basically speeding up the velocity at which the air enters thus more power?

nope actually it is all about the orifice shape on the end...Look at any turbo and you will see this shape, bellmouth (tornado funnel shape)...

It is the closest to perfect shape you can get for transfering air from on space to another (it only loses 2% of air for the same pressure drop from chamber to chamber)...The lid kind of mimics this but not on the bottom side where it is flat to the filter...

lid is 4" or 98mm but when flowed it is only equivalent to a 84mm perfect bellouth orifice(due to the bottom being flatwhere it meets the airfilter)... so it flows 12% less air than a perfect orifice 98mm...

I was curious what this was worth even on a 92mm setup which is the restriction vs the 4" perfect orifice tube...with the pressure drop from the air filter and 98mm lid to the custom 4" perfect orifice tube setup it was worth 7rwhp...

Wrote that fast so it might be confusing...

Hope to gain a hair more since i now have a 102/102 setup...we will see though...dyno day is friday...

Can anyone find the thread from a couple years ago where the kid took a Highway Patrol Camaro and cut the rad support? He made some ridiculous *** filter attachment that hung almost at the bottom of the bumper! That thread always killed me
